This the badge we bear and the name we unite under. Innovation is the creativity and chaos, while protocol is the strategy and system—this harmonious balance is what solidifies what’s necessary for human engagement. It’s also what inspired the design of our wordmark.
Each letter within the wordmark was taken into consideration and intentionally designed. The contrasting weights of the words convey the dynamic range of our parts, and the gears show how our parts work together to make up our united whole. The open counterforms within the letters are a subtle reflection of our transparency.
clearspace and minimums
The wordmark should always be given ample clearance space to allow it to be clearly identified. The absolute minimum clearance space for the wordmark is equal to one small gear.
The minimum size at which the wordmark can be displayed is 0.5″ wide for print applications and 40px wide for on-screen applications. This is to ensure the legibility of the wordmark.
Maintain the proper proportions of the wordmark and do not distort it.
Do not apply gradients to the wordmark.
Do not place the wordmark on backgrounds that provide insufficent contrast.
Do not use the wordmark in colors other than the approved colors.
Do not rotate the wordmark.
Note: Rotating the logo 90° is acceptable in rare cases but every effort should be made to use the wordmark in it’s natural position.
Do not skew the wordmark.
